Manual of Pediatric Anesthesia
Authored by three world experts, this is a clinically focused book on pediatric anesthesia. "The Manual", as it is known, has long dominated the market for a succinct and practical resource on administering anesthesia to children and is used by residents, general anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, and pediatric anesthesiologists. This new edition retains the basic structure of the book and is updated throughout. Text-heavy in the current edition, the Seventh Edition features the addition of figures to chapters where they are especially helpful (eg, the chapter on cardiovascular surgery and cardiac procedures) and makes greater use of headings to break up the text and guide reading. From reviews of the Sixth Edition:"This is an extremely well written book that I would recommend highly to anyone involved in anaesthetizing children. It is comprehensive enough to provide an excellent reference for trainees and general anaesthetists who occasionally deal with paediatric cases, while at the same time giving valuable supplemental information for paediatric anaesthetists encountering an unusual procedure or condition. In short, this is a book that would make a welcome addition to any anaesthetist's mobile library." --Anaesthesia

Global Surgery and Anesthesia Manual: Providing Care in Resource-limited Settings
In 2008, Paul Farmer and Jim Yong Kim described global surgery as the "neglected stepchild" of healthcare, and now leaders from around the world are working to redefine it as a human right through the Lancet Commission on Global Surgery. In order to help advance global surgery and anesthesia as a public health intervention, providers require a practical, hands-on manual to train and educate them to provide safe and effective surgery and anesthesia in resource-limited settings. In an effort to respond to that need, over 140 clinicians from high-, low-, and middle-income countries collaborated to create the Global Surgery and Anesthesia Manual: Providing Care in Resource-Limited Settings.
This guide provides in-depth instruction on epidemiology and ethics surrounding surgical services, and on anesthesia, perioperative care, trauma surgery, and non-trauma surgery. With contributions from a group of culturally and academically diverse clinicians, each chapter is enriched by at least one commentary from a surgeon or anesthesia provider in a low- or middle-income country (LMIC) who shares first-hand perspectives on the realities and complexities of providing surgical care in these settings with limited resources.
The book will serve as a core reference for surgeons and anesthesiologists at all levels interested in global surgery. It will assist those working in LMICs who are confronted with surgical problems that they are not routinely exposed to in their traditional practice. Filled with expert guidance, decision-making algorithms, and treatment options, it will also serve as an invaluable text for trainees in LMICs as it covers the majority of surgical disease processes that would be encountered in such settings.

Clinical Pathways in Emergency Medicine 2 Volumes
This book aims to provide condensed and crystallised knowledge, providing the rationale for investigations and interventions. Emergency medicine is a specialty where time and knowledge are critical factors in deciding appropriate management which could otherwise result in loss of life or limb. The challenge often is to have lucid management plans, whilst standing at the bedside of the patient. In order to address this challenge, a manuscript is needed which aims to enhance the clinical skills of the emergency physician. The objective of this book is to compile a road map for practitioners of emergency medicine, which would guide them through algorithm-based pathways. This format is distinctive by nature for its concise presentation, which facilitates easy reading and early application. Written by global experts, this book aims to be a truly international representation of emergency physicians who have come together to deliver contemporary concepts in emergency patient care.

Anesthesia Management for Electroconvulsive Therapy: Practical Techniques and Physiological Background
In this book, recognized anesthesiology experts present the latest findings on anesthesia for electro-convulsive therapy (ECT). With the development of modified electroconvulsive therapy (m-ECT) and devices to provide brief-pulse stimulation, ECT is currently being re-evaluated as an important procedure in psychiatric disorder therapy and is increasingly being used worldwide to treat several psychiatric conditions. This trend is due to the social phenomenon of the growing number of patients for whom ECT is applicable. Since the new approach is more safe and effective than the original method without anesthesia, m-ECT is currently applied under general anesthesia in most advanced countries. This book provides an overview and practice of total anesthesia management in the perioperative period of ECT. It offers an indispensable resource not only for professional anesthesiologists but also healthcare professionals who use this therapy.
